Networking

Moseley Electronics can handle your Networking and Wi-Fi needs within your office and commercial settings. If you need help setting up a network or making it more efficient, we can problem solve as to the best way to accomplish this.

When everyone in the office is fighting for space on the bandwidth, things become quite stressful. Today we have so many gadgets fighting for space on the Wi-Fi: internet, multiple laptops, tablets, smartphones, thermostats, cameras and doorbells; just to name a few! Basically, the more gadgets hooked up to Wi-Fi, the slower the speed will be.

By having a managed network solution within your office, you will have a more seamless and efficient Wi-Fi experience. Unlike an extender, which adds to the existing Wi-Fi network, our systems are typically a complete replacement. They are designed to create a large blanket of Wi-Fi coverage for your space. Our network equipment provides many advantages over the traditional extenders and Pods. This type of network replaces the wireless signal from your ISP’s Router, so wherever you roam in your office, you will always be connected to the nearest access point automatically, making the handoff more seamless.

Wi-Fi

The strength of your Wi-Fi depends on a number of things:

  1. Router – Is your router the standard one from Comcast or Verizon? If so, then you are not firing on all cylinders. You want your router to be strong enough to handle the number of devices connected to your Wi-Fi and not lock up or slow down with all of the “traffic.” We recommend and install Access Networks or Luxul network equipment.
  2. Distance – The distance from your router to all the devices using it, and the general location of the router, influences signal strength. The correct placement of your router is essential since the signal has to pass through floors, walls, and other obstructions. If your router is downstairs and you have people on another floor using your Wi-Fi, you will probably have to purchase some WAP’s (Wireless Access Points) to help with the signal strength.
  3. Interference – The age and composition of your building will also affect your Wi-Fi performance. If the signal has to pass through concrete walls, metal, different floors, carpet, and other obstacles, the strength of your signal will be weakened. Be mindful of this when selecting a location for your router and WAP’s.
  4. Number of Devices – The number of devices that are using the Wi-Fi, also known as signal sharing, will slow down your signal and completely stress out the router. In an office setting, you will have many employees who are all competing for the same Wi-Fi. An investment in a top of the line router will help provide an uninterrupted, productive day.
