 What is a Structured Cabling
System ?
- A “Structured Cabling System” is quite simply a
method and type of cabling that enables the wiring in
your home,
formerly used exclusively for telephone and cable TV, to be used for
many other purposes as well. The big advantage of this system is that
your home is truly wired for the future.
- What are the Features ?
- Video: We mount all brands
of High Definition Flat Panel TVs and provide access from anywhere
in the home to your Satellite System, Cable TV, FIOS, DVD, Blue Ray,
Media Server, Antenna or any other audio/video component. Superior TV and FM reception. You can even install cameras so
you can see and even hear what’s going on at the pool or in the baby’s
room by simply tuning to a specific channel on any TV in the home.
- Communications: Connection
anywhere for telephones, fax machines, answering machines, etc.
Internet access using ANY connection including FIOS, DSL, Cable, and Satellite.
Electronic Doorbell Phones are available which ring your telephones when
someone is at the door and allows you to communicate with them from any
phone in the house. Built-in
capability for complete electronic phone “systems” which provides all
of the features of a business phone system such as room to room intercom ,
door chime and intercom, paging, and flexible multi-line programming. No
more running around the house when a phone call is for someone else.
- Computer Networking: Interconnection
of multiple computers, printers, wireless access points, and scanners. Share data and
peripherals. Share high speed internet access among multiple computers.

- Construction Considerations
- Cost: As with any wiring,
the cost when the home is under construction is only a fraction of what
it will be once the walls are up. You also get a bonus savings! The cost
of running standard phone and cable TV lines can be eliminated resulting
in a savings from the standard electrical work. If your home is already
built we can still install the system with all wire hidden in the walls
in most cases. The value of your home is substantially en
 hanced and the
system may even pay for itself if you sell your home.
- Flexibility: The system can
start out very inexpensively and grow as your needs change without
additional wiring. The system is completely compatible with broadband
and future technologies.

- How does it Work ?
- Custom faceplates are installed around the home to
provide the services desired at every location. Industry standard Category5
(CAT5e) cable is used for communications and data, and Quad Shield
RG6 cable is used for video. Feeder cables are run to the network interface
for cable and telephone service. Optional feeders can be run for
Satellite and Antenna. All wiring is “home run” from the
faceplates to a patch panel located in the garage or mechanical room.
Wiring is cross-connected at the patch panel and optimally connected
to other equipment to provide the desired features. This equipment can
be changed, upgraded, or added at any time without the need for
modifications or additional wiring.
