There are various purposes for using outdoor lighting. It is essential for safety during nighttime navigation around your home and also serves to highlight specific features. Were you aware that Savant and Lutron offer excellent automated lighting systems for both outdoor and indoor use?

Benefits of Using Auto Sensors for Outdoors

One excellent advantage of automated lighting is the ability to tailor your lights to your preferences. For instance, when hosting outdoor events, you can have more lights set up than usual. Want to adjust your lighting setup? Just press a button on your controller or use the app on your tablet or smartphone!

With the programmed auto timer or the built-in astronomical timer, you have the ability to set up nightly lighting scenes, vacation modes, or special occasions. You can schedule your walkway lights to turn on "at sunset." This is a convenient feature to have, as sunset times vary between warmer and colder months, eliminating the need for frequent time adjustments. By personalizing your outdoor lighting, you can highlight and accentuate your home, outdoor entertaining spaces, and landscaping. Have you ever considered using outdoor lighting to enrich your pools, fountains, grilling areas, walkways, gardens, decks, and entryways? Discover why Richmond homeowners are fond of outdoor lighting concepts.

Types of Outdoor Lighting

Task Lighting - Lighting that is necessary for carrying out specific tasks, such as pool lighting, grill lighting, and outdoor entertainment areas.

Accent Lighting - Lighting used to emphasize particular objects with a gentle light. It can highlight key objects and focal points like water features, plants, and landscaping. Examples of Accent Lights include post lights, rail lighting, and pathway lights.

Samsung leads the market in providing high-quality indoor and outdoor televisions. The Terrace series is specifically designed for outdoor use, catering to homes, restaurants, or businesses in need of outdoor entertainment options. Enjoy Your Outdoor Events

Terrace TVs not only please the eyes, but also invigorate the senses with their energizing sound!

Features:

  • Experience an OLED 4K Screen with vibrant colors that remain vivid regardless of the lighting conditions.

  • Enjoy the Direct Full Array 16K technology for an immersive viewing experience.

  • Utilize voice control to command the Terrace TV and access your desired content effortlessly.

  • The all-weather durable Terrace remote ensures reliable performance in any condition.

Made to Withstand the Elements From extreme temperatures to rain, snow and dust, Samsung’s Terrace Outdoor TV’s are engineered to endure anything Mother Nature throws its way – something an indoor TV just can’t do. This television is designed to thrive outside all year round and are both water and dust resistant.

Why Can't I Just Place my Regular TV Outside?

  • It voids your Television’s warranty.

  • Indoor Televisions cannot handle the extreme temperatures (heat, rain, freezing temperatures – all of which will damage the internal mechanisms).

  • Condensation, dust and bugs are also damaging culprits to your equipment outside.

  • Indoor televisions are not equipped with an anti-glare screen.

  • An indoor TV’s ventilation holes become an easy passage way for moisture, insects, dust and dirt to enter and short circuit the TV; leading to electrocution or even death. It is not worth the risk!

Take Your Entertainment Outside!

Whether your outdoor entertainment area is sunny or shady, Samsung Terrace has the television for you to enjoy year-round! Contact us at (804) 379-1348 or make an online appointment today!

We usually work behind the scenes, providing technology solutions for our customers throughout Richmond. We’re in and out of homes and offices installing theater systems, flat-panel TVs, wireless networks, central vacuums, and central home control systems for lighting, audio, and temperature controls.

See what our advice is for Richmond homeowners when we had a chance to step into the limelight for a feature article in Richmond Magazine. This piece talks about how technology streamlines our homes’ essential functions, something we’re passionate about.

It All Starts with a Solid Network

When the Richmond Magazine team caught up with our Director of Technology, Brian Moseley, they wanted to know about technology trends that enhance our lives at home. Brian explained that technology facilitates just about every aspect of our experience when we’re at home. From lights and temperature to entertainment and security, it’s all technology.

In Brian’s opinion, though, it all comes down to a solid network. All of those conveniences need network connectivity; which is why the demand the Moseley team has seen for network installs and upgrades has grown exponentially since the start of the pandemic. More people are working from home, and have kids doing virtual schooling, so it is imperative to have the bandwidth capabilities to keep up with the workload.

After networks, lighting (and specifically smart switches) are the next most requested install. Brian explained that the demand is so high in part because lighting has come so far. You don’t have to replace fixtures or rewire the house now if you want to change your lighting.

All you need to do is install smart switches, and they make a big difference. Smart switches allow you to set themes for certain moods or times of the day. They also allow you to control your lighting using a smartphone or laptop, even if you are away from home.

Advice for New Home Construction

With the rapid growth of technology usage in our homes, Brian says homeowners could save a significant amount of money by thinking proactively about future technology needs. He told the Richmond Magazine team that it’s helpful to plan ahead and contact someone in this industry as a new home is being built. Even if the homeowner doesn’t want to install everything right away, planning for the possibility will save a lot of money later. It is as imperative to get the right technology infrastructure in your home for current and future electronics as it is to make sure your home is built on a solid foundation.

We enjoyed the opportunity to step into the spotlight with Richmond Magazine. If you’d like to read the article, you can use this link. If you have questions about anything related to technology in the home, we’d love to hear from you!
